Chesil Speedster

My car is a silver Chesil Speedster, reg no OMA 435H.

The car is interesting in that it has a period 1965 Porsche 'industrial' 4 cylinder engine (Type 616/33 - P011796. 1500cc twin carb). This is of the type that often finds its way into racing 356s, as they pass scrutineering. The owners could race their cars hard without risking that precious 'numbers matching' engine which can remain safely tucked away!

My car has the chassis from a 1968 swing axle Beetle with front disc brake conversion and was built by Chesil, I believe, and purchased by its original owner, Chris Mulinder, in 2001. Sadly much of the history has been lost prior to my ownership, so I'm keen for anyone to get in touch who may know anything about the car.
